How to ask

Utang with love, but in writing.

Gentle first, firm later

  • Before the due date: a friendly heads-up, so it isn’t a surprise.
  • On the day: a quick reminder, and ask them to tell you when it’s sent.
  • A few days late: gentle, with room for a reason: “just let me know when you can”.
  • Still nothing: firm, and ask for an exact day. Still polite, no drama.

What makes a reminder work

  • The exact amount and date. Vague reminders get vague answers.
  • The balance, if it’s paid in parts, so both of you agree on what’s left.
  • One question to answer: when. It’s easier to reply to than “pay me”.
  • Their language. A Taglish or Cebuano message reads like you, not a collector.

Questions

Paano maningil?

When should I send the first reminder?

A day before it’s due, or on the morning it’s due. Early reminders read as helpful; late ones read as chasing. Use Gentle for the first one.

When do I switch to Firm?

When a gentle reminder got no answer or a vague one, usually a week or so after the due date. Firm still says please, but asks for an exact day.

They won’t reply. What now?

Send one firm reminder that asks for a date, then talk in person or call. Keep a record of what was lent, what was paid and when: it makes the conversation about numbers, not feelings.

Is my message saved anywhere?

No. Everything stays on this page in your browser. Send as text and Viber open your own phone’s apps with the message filled in.

Can I change the message?

Yes. Edit it in the box before you copy or send it. Changing the name, amount or date writes a fresh message.

Utang, both ways

Waldazz remembers who owes what.

Waldazz is a payday planner for Filipino money. It keeps every peso lent and borrowed:

  • Late payments show on Home under Owed to you · late, with a Remind button that writes this same message.
  • It follows your app language, and remembers when you last sent one.
  • Payments in parts come off the balance, so the next reminder has the right amount.
  • Pay when able for family loans: no interest, no set amount, never overdue.
